World Cup Streams on RTÉ Player Double Since 2014 Tournament

As the 2018 FIFA World Cup draws to a close, with RTÉ2 airing the final this Sunday from 2:25pm, we take a look at how the tournament has performed so far on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.

 

Of the 52 matches aired so far on RTÉ2, live game coverage averaged 268,000 viewers and 35.7% share (Adults 15+). To date the top game on television has been Colombia v England with 602,000 viewers and a 51.2% share of Adults 15+. The game also had 159,000 streams on RTÉ Player. Over the weekend the top game was Russia V Croatia with 456,000 viewers and 42.9% share among Adults 15+ which was also strong on RTÉ Player with 120,000 live streams.

 

There have been 60 matches aired so far on RTÉ Player with a total of almost 4.8 million streams for live games. With four games still left to show, RTÉ Player has already doubled its total volume of streams as well as the average volume of streams per game, versus the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
