Irish Radio listened to by 3.1 million people, with over 2 million tuning into RTÉ

RTÉ continues to reach over 2 million radio listeners with 2,000,300 or 53% of the Adult 15+ population tuning in every week. RTÉ Radio 1 is still the only station with a weekly reach of over 1 million at 1,386,000 (-4,000 BoB and -7,000 YoY). RTÉ Radio programmes continue to make up the Top 20 National Radio Programmes amongst all adults 15+, with 2FM’s Breakfast Republic moving up the table.

 

RTÉ 2FM has a weekly reach figure of 844,000/22% of Adults 15+ (-6,000 BoB and +28,000 YoY). RTÉ lyric fm has 267,000 listeners on a weekly basis (-10,000 BoB and -37,000 YoY).

RTÉ Radio 1 reaches 860,000 listeners on a weekday and remains the only Irish radio station with a weekly reach of over 1 Million*. RTÉ Radio 1 also holds a 21.9% Market Share

 

  • Morning Ireland is the most listened to radio programme in Ireland, with 434,000 listeners (consistent YoY).
  • Liveline with Joe Duffy captivates 374,000 listeners every weekday (+4,000 YoY), the second most listened to programme in Ireland.
  • News at One with Aine Lawlor and Claire Byrne delivers daily with 341,000 (+16,000 YoY).
  • The Ray D’Arcy Show continues to move up the Top 20 Adults 15+ list, with 219,000 listeners (+9,000 YoY).
  • Today with Sean O’Rourke grows by 10,000 listeners (BoB). 317,000 listeners choose to tune in every weekday.
  • With 313,000 listeners every weekday, The Ryan Tubridy Show sees gains of 2,000 listeners (BoB).
  • The Marian Finucane Show reaches 346,000 listeners on Saturday (+17,000 BoB) and 322,000 on Sunday mornings (+1,000 BoB/ +6,000 YoY).
  • Drivetime with Mary Wilson has 222,000 listeners (-6,000 BoB).
  • Listeners continue to turn up the volume for the music on RTÉ Radio 1, with The Ronan Collins Show gaining 4,000 (BoB) now with 217,000 listeners, The John Creedon Show boasts 42,000 listeners (+1,000 BoB) and Late Date steadily rising with 22,000 listeners (+1,000 BoB/ +2,000 YoY) on weekday nights while its weekend slot also shows growth.
  • Playback gains 8,000 (BoB) now with 303,000 listeners, a huge growth of 38,000 year on year.
  • Saturday with Cormac Ó hEadhra now has 218,000 listeners (+2,000 YoY).
  • Saturday Sport has 213,000 listeners tuning in (+12,000 YoY).
  • Sunday with Miriam has grown by 7,000 listeners in the period with 271,000 (BoB).

RTÉ 2FM is the number 1 national station for 15 - 34's – holding the Top 5 programmes for U35s. It also has a weekly reach figure of 844,000/22% of Adults 15+ (+28,000 YoY). RTÉ 2FM's market share is at 7.2% (+0.3pts BoB)

 

  • Breakfast Republic has 189,000 listeners and moves to number 19 spot in the country and up 3,000 BoB.
  • The Nicky Byrne Show with Jenny Greene gains 5,000 BoB to 153,000 and up 2,000 YoY.
  • The Tracy Clifford Show has grown 8,000 listeners (BoB) to 142,000 and 15,000 listeners YoY.
  • The Eoghan McDermott Show increases listenership to 145,000, up 1,000 (BoB) and a massive 18,000 YoY.
  • The Louise McSharry Show remains static with 24,000 listeners.

  • The Full Score with Liz Nolan reaches 34,000 adults 15+
