Gráinne Coleman in RTÉ Programme Sales tells us more about a growing arm of RTÉ Media Sales.

April was a busy month for RTÉ Programme Sales as we attended two large International markets MIPDOC/MIPTV in Cannes followed by the Apex Multimedia Market in Dublin.  Programme Sales is the international distribution arm of RTÉ and represents many talented producers both in-house and independent.  The most recent catalogue of content includes new titles such as The Irish Revolution, Incredible Homes, Whistle Blower, Donal's Meals In Minutes and Great Lighthouses of Ireland.

MIPTV is the second largest International Television tradeshow in the world after MIPCOM (which is held in October). Buyers from across the globe attend searching for content to air on their network or streamer. 

RTÉ's presence at MIPTV forms part of the Ireland on Screen stand in association with Enterprise Ireland, Screen Ireland and other independent production companies such as Jam Media, ShinaWil, VIP, Tile Films to name a few.

The APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Exhibition) MultiMedia Market is the airline industry’s premier content conference that brings together airlines with content service providers and distributors. An annual European market, this year APEX returned to Dublin six years after its last visit to the city and the two-and-a-half-day exhibition was held in Dublin's Clayton Hotel. Along with distributors like Warner Bros, All3Media, Fremantle, Banajay and the BBC, RTÉ Programme Sales hosted an exhibition stand and met with numerous global airlines and content service providers offering Irish content to screen on their airlines.  This was RTÉ Programme Sales first attendance at APEX and it was great to welcome so many International Distributors and over 250 airlines to Dublin.

2019 has already seen some of RTÉ’s programmes such as Operation Transformation get a second series commission with S4C in Wales, Donal’s Meals in Minutes sold to a number of territories including Australia, UK, Netherlands and Asia and Incredible Homes is making its way to screens across Poland, Australia and Hong Kong.
