AN ESSENTIAL TOOL FOR RADIO PLANNERS – UNDERSTANDING AUDIO DASHBOARD UPDATE

Our Understanding Audio Dashboard has now been updated to include the latest JNLR (2022-3) and our own proprietary audience behaviour research recently conducted by Red C (Autumn 2022). This easy-to-use tool shows daily reach and audio streams for each of RTÉ's radio programmes across key demographics. It also provides an overview of typical activities being undertaken at various times throughout the day along with what media is typically consumed, as demonstrated by the graph below.

For example, Radio is the number one choice on weekday mornings with Social Media taking second place, a pattern replicated at weekends. Unsurprisingly Radio remains a popular backdrop for day-to-day activities, such as housework and / or cooking, commuting, and dropping the kids off to various places such as school or sport.
We've been tracking typical behaviour throughout the day since 2019 and can immediately see from trended information that while commuting and working in the office have increased since 2020 and 2021, socialising, catching up with friends or family and exercise remain down versus 2019.
